...GAFF!

It's taken me a little while to put up these pictures, mainly because I wanted to compile them a little bit better, but I think I'll just leave them the way they are. I did a little hair modeling for a really awesome hair salon called Gaff. It's a simple blow and curl but they did a very tasteful job. Gaff and Yuuk have been featured in many big magazines like Elle and Bazaar. I have a few pictures of some of the things they've done and posted a few pictures that my boyfriend took while they shot me :)

...Japanese crafts

2011 Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition
Feb. 24 to March 1
Dento-teki Kogeihin-ten WAZA 2011, Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, is held at Ikebukuro Tobu Department Store from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (to 5 p.m. on March 1st). It is a good chance to see and buy many articles of different kinds of Japanese traditional handicrafts; pottery, woven goods, dye stuffs, Japanese paper, stationery items, lacquer ware, wood and bamboo ware, from all over Japan.

Here I come!!
Stay tuned for some pictures of this festival, which I'm sure will turn out to be pretty beautiful!

...pressed flowers

I had a bit of a color theme going on with this pressed flower arrangement :)

...green :D

Here are a few of the green-themed flower designs that I have been working on!

Taken in my wonderful room which is clearly a mess

This is a green-themed triangle arrangement that I did at school...taking something like this on the train is impossible.

just because. these colors are beautiful.

...being busy!

Sorry for being a little absent the last week or so. But to make up for it I have a lot of little goodies. I have a few a green flower arrangement, a pressed flower design, and a hair modeling job to share with you. I'm in the middle of photographing and compiling them all now, so stayed tuned! It should be up later tonight ;)

...Rumi Neely!

Rumi Neely is my new obsession. Although I've known about her through her blog for a while now, I've recently been seeing her EVERYWHERE! So, I'd love to add to her publicity :)
Rumi is a half Japanese half model from Cali. She's created a name for herself through her blog about personal style and the things she likes to buy and sell. She is the face of FOREVER 21 and is hoping to become a stylist. More recently she has received awards in the categories of "Blogger of the Year" and "Best Personal Style Blog." I also spotted her in the New York Times fashion section.

Please check her out on her blog http://www.fashiontoast.com/ and at this article!! Enjoy!

...modern art in Tokyo!

Modern art is hit or miss for me but this weekend some friends and I went to the Modern Art Museum in Mori Towers in Roppongi and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly :)
We went to see Odani Motohiko's Phantom Limb; an exhibition that included his works from the years 1997-2010.
His juxtaposing of the beautiful vs the ugly, the ephemeral vs the constant and freedom vs constriction makes for endless interesting and eye-catching sculptures. They are definitely a breech from the ordinary but that is what I was drawn to. Enjoy!

....some more from Saya!

So, a couple weeks ago I previewed some of Saya Itami's great nail designs. I'm so enamored by her :) It's just so hard to believe all that she manages to do within the space of a fingernail! !  I plan to go to her this month too so look out for some personal photos! But before that, enjoy some of her latest designs. There seem to be lots of hearts this time...Valentine's theme maybe? Enjoy!!

How sweet is the little bear?

I love how she mixes it up with big chunky glitter

...Make-Up!!!

I've always been attracted to the allure of make-up. Something about the transformation of a face into a piece of art work is really fascinating and limitless. The next few make up artists are some very talented people and I can't stop looking at their stuff. I'm sure you will enjoy it just as much as I do!
