beautiful tokyo view from mori tower

...modern art in Tokyo!

Modern art is hit or miss for me but this weekend some friends and I went to the Modern Art Museum in Mori Towers in Roppongi and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly :)
We went to see Odani Motohiko's Phantom Limb; an exhibition that included his works from the years 1997-2010.
His juxtaposing of the beautiful vs the ugly, the ephemeral vs the constant and freedom vs constriction makes for endless interesting and eye-catching sculptures. They are definitely a breech from the ordinary but that is what I was drawn to. Enjoy!

....some more from Saya!

So, a couple weeks ago I previewed some of Saya Itami's great nail designs. I'm so enamored by her :) It's just so hard to believe all that she manages to do within the space of a fingernail! !  I plan to go to her this month too so look out for some personal photos! But before that, enjoy some of her latest designs. There seem to be lots of hearts this time...Valentine's theme maybe? Enjoy!!

How sweet is the little bear?

I love how she mixes it up with big chunky glitter

...Make-Up!!!

I've always been attracted to the allure of make-up. Something about the transformation of a face into a piece of art work is really fascinating and limitless. The next few make up artists are some very talented people and I can't stop looking at their stuff. I'm sure you will enjoy it just as much as I do!

...Beata Faron!!

Seeing as we are in the midst of winter, I think most of us will appreciate the next selection from Beata Faron. She is incredibly innovative!

The brilliant idea behind "Brr" is to drink your hot cup of coffee and have the heat from the cup warm your hands on all sides.

I want name cards like this!!

And this calendar made from pages out of books is just so great.

...Lala Lopez

Designer and stylist, Lala Lopez too cool.

...Jesse Barnes!!

I met Jesse while on my year abroad studying at Sophia University in Tokyo. She is now studying film and in the process of getting her Master's degree from New York University's Tisch School of Arts. She has been working on a few different projects that I wanted to share with you!
She has asked ME to be in her next movie too!! I am absolutely head over heals honored and excited!! She starts filming in Singapore this March. So Singapore, here I come!! (can't wait to see and work with you Ms. Barnes)!

Here are some pictures of the amazing girl in action:
